An eight-year-old boy has been left with scars to his head following an horrific dog attack.
Cameron Whithers was playing with the border collie at a relative's house in West Bromwich when the animal attacked him.
The dog, named Dexter, locked its jaws onto Cameron's head and only the quick actions of his dad Wayne Whithers saved him. Cameron's mum Sarah Edgington, aged 36, said her son was lucky to be alive following the incident at his great-aunt's home at the weekend.
Following Saturday's incident, Cameron was taken to Sandwell Hospital before being transferred to Birmingham Children's Hospital for surgery.
He is now recuperating at Miss Edgington's home in The Grove on the Yew Tree Estate on the Sandwell-Walsall border.
