A man was fighting for his life today after being shot following a party at a pub in the Black Country.
A man was fighting for his life today after being shot following a party at a pub in the Black Country.
The 29-year-man victim was in a serious but stable condition following the shooting in Smethwick.
Meanwhile, police were today also investigating after a man was shot in the leg in Wolverhampton.
Police believe the man shot in Smethwick attended a party at the Old Corner House in Soho Street before arriving at Birmingham City Hospital at 5am yesterday.
It is still unclear whether the victim was shot in the pub or elsewhere. The Old Corner House was sealed off for forensic searches.
Det Insp Gary Dring from the Force Criminal Investigation Department said: "We believe the victim was at a party at the Old Corner House, however it is not clear whether his injuries were sustained whilst he was at the pub or elsewhere.
"We are keen to speak to anyone who was at the party to help us determine what happened."
Two men aged 31 and 39 are helping police with inquiries.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man was shot in the leg in Chester Street, Whitmore Reans. He is said to be in a stable condition after the shooting on Thursday evening.
