Curry lovers in Stafford have helped to raise more than £1,500 for charity.

The cash was raised at the Malabar for Katharine House Hospice at a specially arranged charity evening.

The restaurant held a buffet night offering an all-you-can-eat meal, with 60 per cent of the food profits being donated to the hospice in Weston Road.

The evening was a sell-out, and a second night was added to cope with demand.

Corporate fundraiser Kelly Day said: "This is the second time that we have worked with Malabar to raise funds for the hospice.

"The response we have received from the community has been fantastic."
