Scrap scheme helps car sales

Demand is booming for new cars in Kidderminster after the start of the Government's scrappage scheme with one garage reporting unprecedented sales.

The scheme gives customers £2,000 off the price of a new car by scrapping a vehicle more than ten years old.

And demand has been high at All Electric Garages at Churchfields in Kidderminster.

The Government's £1,000 offer, matched by a manufacturer's discount of £1,000, has helped staff sell 38 Hyundai i10 models for £4,995 this month alone.
