Cat is shot in attack
A sniper with an air rifle is believed to have been responsible for killing a cat and injuring another pet belonging to a family in the Midlands.

Investigations into the shootings in the village of Cookley, near Kidderminster, are being carried out by West Mercia Police and the RSPCA.
Meanwhile Calvin Warsap, whose family own the cats involved, said he was concerned that other animals might die or someone could be injured. Calvin, 37 who is unemployed and partially disabled, said: "We found one of the cats called Tails, who was 14-months-old, dead and lying on the side of the garden. We think she may have been fired at by a pellet from an air rifle while in front of the house in Kimberlee Avenue.
"Then we found Honey, the mother. She had returned home in the early hours of May 4 with a wound to her left flank.
Calvin, who has a 38-year-old partner Donna Tolley, and two children Kayleigh, aged 17, and 11-year-old Kacey, added: "I am concerned that there is someone around who is carelessly using an air rifle."
The RSPCA is appealing for anyone with information to call the RSPCA Cruelty and Advice Line on 0300 1234 999 and leave a message for Inspector Neil Tysall.
