Insulation grants grow

A grant scheme allowing people in the Wyre Forest district to get free loft and cavity wall insulation for their home is being extended to the over-60s.

Wyre Forest District Council has said that for a limited period anyone over 60 who lives in privately-owned or privately rented accommodation will be able to apply for the scheme on a first-come, first-served basis.

It is claimed that a properly insulated loft can reduce home heating bills by as much as 20 per cent.
