A motorcyclist suffered chest injuries after ploughing into a hedge and hitting a metal post on a Kidderminster road.

The rider, a man in his 30s, was taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch following the accident on the A448, on the Bromsgrove side of Mustow Green island last night .

A rapid response car and ambulance attended the scene of the crash, at 7.40pm.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "A motorcyclist had an injury to his collar bone and chest following a collision with a hedge and a metal post.

"He developed medical complications and was therefore taken to the Alexandra Hospital."

The motorcyclist's injures were not described as life threatening, he added.
