The Oscar-nominated actress, who grew up in Bearwood and attended Holly Lodge Grammar School for Girls, will be at West Bromwich Town Hall on November 13 to talk about her hit autobiography That's Another Story.

All 400 tickets have already sold out for the appearance, which will include her telling tales of her upbringing in Smethwick.

Julie has twice been nominated for an Oscar and this year was made a CBE for services to drama. She is currently starring in the Abba hit musical Mamma Mia, the biggest grossing British film of all time at the UK box office.

Julie will be in conversation with Sandwell Council communications manager Phil Challoner at the evening event.

Sandwell Council cabinet member for culture and leisure Councillor Linda Horton said: "Julie Walters is an inspirational figure and a national treasure."

Copies of Julie's autobiography are available to borrow from Sandwell's libraries. She is also due in Birmingham the day before to sign copies of her book at Waterstone's in the city's High Street from 5.30pm.
