A Kidderminster drama student is already appearing alongside some of the biggest names in acting after winning a part on a new epic.

Paul Campbell, aged 16, has been studying at Kidderminster College since September. And the budding actor could not believe his luck when he was called in to audition alongside BAFTA nominated Paul Bettany for a new project, called Creation.

The youngster, who is studying for his National Diploma in Acting, made such an impression he was offered the part of a Galapagos native in the film.

It is about the life of British scientist Charles Darwin and the publication of his theory of evolution On the Origin of the Species. The work forever transformed the way society thinks about the natural world and how species came to exist.

For Paul the part meant six days of filming in Cornwall being able to see the sights, sounds and experiences of a professional film set.

He said: "It's been a fantastic experience and an honour to be working alongside someone such as Paul Bettany.

"I can't quite believe it's happened to me.

"I took up acting about fours years ago and would never have dreamed I would have had an opportunity like this so soon."

People will be able to see Paul's performance on screen when Creation is released next year.
