Police have slapped almost 600 fines on drivers caught red handed using mobile phones and also failing to wear a seat belt.
Officers have issued 367 £60 fixed penalty tickets for using mobile phones and 228 £30 fixed penalty tickets for not wearing seat belts between April and September this year.
It is estimated the figures for Wyre Forest, including Kidderminster, would be around a third of the total.
Police are today warning that they will come down hard on people who continue to flout the law.
Sergeant Rich Edwards, of the North Worcestershire Road Policing Unit, said: "Poor driving, which includes mobile phone safety and seatbelt safety are among the Seven Deadly Sins – seven keys areas identified by West Mercia Constabulary as significantly increasing the amount of deaths, injuries and collision on the force's roads.
