Top award for safari park

West Midland Safari Park has scooped the prestigious Group Leisure Award 2008 for the best UK Attraction for Children.

Commenting on the award, park spokesman Wendy Jackson said: "This is the first time that West Midland Safari Park has received this wonderful accolade and it is an award that we are enormously proud of.

"The park is a marvellous day excursion venue and we are extremely pleased that our position in the industry has been formally recognised."

The award winners spanned 21 categories, voted for by readers of Group Leisure magazine.

The park's all-weather four-mile Safari is home to more than 600 exotic animals. West Midland Safari Park's Bonfire and Firework Extravaganza is back on November 8.
