Around 50 former pupils flocked to the old Wolverhampton Intermediate School to share funny stories, reminisce about the good old days and catch up on friendships, some of which have lasted a lifetime.
As part of the reunion, the now pensioners were given a tour around their former school in Old Hall Street, city centre, which is now used as a college for adult education.
At the age of 87, Dora Barnham was the most senior former classmate there.
"I can remember exactly how the school was and how all the classrooms used to be, although obviously it has changed over the years," she said. "We always talk about what we used to get up to at school and everything we have been doing since."
Dora, who attended the school from 1931, added: "I had some friends who I kept in touch with all my life after school, but these reunions help people meet up who haven't seen each other for all those years."
Alan Barnaby and Geoff James led a rendition of the school's old theme song.
Alan, aged 82, said: "It is great to get together and share our experiences and talk about what we used to do."
