Former Warley High School teacher Kenneth Paskin, of Langley Avenue in Coseley, was told he would never work with children again after admitting various charges of abduction, sexual activity with a child, taking indecent images of children and possessing indecent pictures of underage girls.
Paskin, aged 59, a netball coach of 30 years, was told he was "obsessed" with young girls when being sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday.
Bernard Linneman, prosecuting, told the court a 13-year-old girl had moved in with Paskin in November 2005 and neighbours contacted police after becoming concerned about the couple's relationship. Police arrested Paskin, a father-of-two, last January after searching his home and discovering indecent photographs of the underage girl.
After being released on bail, Paskin was captured on CCTV meeting the 13-year-old at a secluded spot in Kinver and charged with abduction.
Paskin had faced allegations of having sex with the schoolgirl, but was sentenced on the basis that he had groped her on one occasion, after the more serious charges were allowed to lie on the file. Mr Linneman told the court pictures of a second girl under the age of 16 were also found at the home that dated back to 1987.
Mr Linneman said the other victim had taken an overdose shortly after the pictures were taken.
Mr Andrew Jones, defending Paskin, said: "His life has been ruined. His teaching career is of course at an end. Local vigilantes have had their turn and no doubt enjoyed it."
Mr Andrews added Paskin's second wife had left him since he was remanded in prison waiting to be sentenced.
Paskin had been working at Warley High School for nine years at the time of his arrest.
When passing sentence, His Honour Judge Nicholas Webb said Paskin had caused the two victims "a great deal of psychological harm." "You are obsessed with the sexuality of young girls in their very early teens," he said. "You are wholly unfit to teach them or mentor them in any way."
Paskin was told he would also be on the sexual offenders list for the rest of his life.
