Tickets available for the 'mother of all Christmas parties' - Motown and soul Rendezvous at Wolverhampton's The Halls
Motown and soul music lovers are in for the a treat when the "mother of all Christmas parties" arrives at Wolverhampton's The Halls.
Tickets are still available for Christmas Rendezvous being staged by homegrown acts led by Wolverhampton born drummer Carl McGregor who has performed all over the world including with stars Gloria Gaynor, Michael Bolton, gospel great Andrae Crouch, and Beverley Knight.
The show on December 21 will pay homage to many of Carl’s heroes such as Earth, Wind and Fire; Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin. The touring show also has also been endorsed by soul star Nile Rodgers and Chic’s Audrey Martells, who is Carl’s first cousin.
Performers will include Pop Idol's Hayley Evetts, Dayton Grey, Abby Eaton and Ellie-J Walters.
Carl says: "It will be the mother of all Christmas parties and a night to remember."
Back in 2002 Carl, who attended Woden Primary and Heath Town Comprehensive schools, gathered an array of talented musicians and singers for Project 21 or a project for the 21st century. Out of that was born the live soul music show Rendezvous which was first staged at The Terrace Bar at Molineux attended by around 200 people. In January 2024 and in February 2025 the band did sold out nights at Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre.
Hayley Evetts appeared in ITV's Pop Idol singing contest in 2002 along with series winner Will Young.
