'Oh no you didn't!' 20 showstopping pictures capture the magic of this year's panto 'Sleepy Beauty' as stars take to the stage at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre
Stars from across the country have donned their most outrageous - and amazing - costumes for this year's 'Sleeping Beauty' panto at the Grand Theatre, which has its first public show today.
Wolverhampton Grand Theatre's panto rendition of Sleeping Beauty is finally here, and after seeing it performed live in a full dress rehearsal on Friday, we can say that we loved every second of it.
Told through a story penned by panto icons Ian Adams and Tam Ryan, and directed by the equally iconic David Janson, the show was destined to be a hit.

However, our expectations of the panto were shot into the stratosphere by its starlit cast of performers, including Debra Stephenson as Queen Bertha of Bilstonia, Zak Douglas as Gerald the Herald, Solomon Davy as Prince Stephen, Georgia Iudica-Davies as Princess Beauty, and Ian and Tam themselves as Dame Mary Fortune and Mickey Fortune respectively.
However, in our opinion, the real showstopper this year comes from the performance of RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner and iconic bearded queen, Danny Beard, who had the audience breathless at their perfection of quick wit and singing ability as the role of Carabosse, the evil villain with eyeliner sharp enough to prick your finger with.

With a wardrobe and set designed by the widely respected David Shields, each character and scene was bound to look magnificent, and the Grand Theatre production definitely delivered.
However, the show excelled with Carabosse's set piece featuring a devilishly nefarious black feathered dress, high-heels and a headpiece that is bound to become an icon in itself.
