Peek behind the curtain: 14 pictures show the hard work behind the magic as rehearsals are under way for the highly anticipated panto 'Sleeping Beauty' at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre
Stars from across the UK are set to travel to Wolverhampton to feature in the anticipated Grand Theatre's Sleeping Beauty pantomime this Christmas.
As we head into December, pantomime season is well upon us, and celebrities and panto dames are dusting off their outrageous costumes for another fun festive season.
Among the dozens of pantomimes taking place this Christmas season is Wolverhampton Grand Theatre's rendition of the popular fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty.
The anticipated show is set to feature seven TV, music, and panto celebrities, and includes a brand-new purpose-built set and costumes, all designed by designer Davied Shields.
Featuring in this year's performance will be Danny Beard, who bared all in RuPaul's Drag Race UK and Celebrity Big Brother fame, and is expected to bring their sharp wit and cheeky humour to the stage as they fill the boots of the sinister villain Carabosse.
Also appearing will be Debra Stephenson, one of the UK's best-loved impressionists, star of BBC One's The Impressions Show, and BBC Radio 4's Dead Ringers, who will bring her talents to play Queen Bertha of Bilstonia.
Zak Douglas, from Wolverhampton, who was a regular on the BAFTA-nominated ITV Comedy G'WED, and starred alongside Colin Firth in Lockerbie, will feature as Gerald the Herald as he brings his acting experience onto the stage.
Multi-talented Tam Ryan, who is known for his acting, singing and comedy career, will return to Wolverhampton for his sixth consecutive pantomime.
Also appearing will be Ian Adams, who began his professional career as the lead vocalist in the vocal/dance act Zeebra. Sleeping Beauty will mark the ninth pantomime that Ian has done at the Grand Theatre, and the third time that he has written collaboratively with Tam Ryan.
Also appearing from Wolverhampton will be Solomon Davy, who made his West End debut as Kenicki in the stage performance of Grease at the Dominion Theatre in 2023. Earlier this year, Solomon appeared at the Grand Theatre as Link Larkin from the popular musical Hairspray.
Topping off the main cast will be Georgia Ludicia-Davies, who will star as the sleepy Princess Beauty. Georgia is no stranger to the stage, having performed at the Grand Theatre's Bat Out of Hell, as well as The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales and Hairspray at the London Coliseum.
Sleeping Beauty will be on show at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from November 29 to January 4, with tickets on sale from the Grand Theatre website.
