New boost to economy in Wolverhampton city centre as MP helps to open vegetarian restaurant
A new restaurant is aiming to provide a full range of vegetarian and vegan dishes and help to boost the city centre economy in Wolverhampton after officially opening its doors.
Wolverhampton West MP Warinder Juss officially cut the ribbon for Meat Free Planet on Victoria Street, marking the opening of the latest business to begin trading in the pedestrianised centre of the city.
The restaurant offers a large range of plant-based, fully vegetarian dishes with influences from northern and southern India and the surrounding area, with a large range of meat-free specials which look and taste like meat dishes, but are entirely plant-based.
The restaurant is owned and run by Mohammed Yameen, who is based in Southall in London and said that he and his wife had decided to take on running their own business after 10 years in the industry and his own experiences since becoming a vegetarian.

He said: "We both have a passion for the food and as we've got a bit older, we decided that we needed to do something on our own and couldn't keep changing jobs, plus I noticed that there was a gap in the market for vegetarian restaurants.
