11 much-loved Wolverhampton shops that Wulfrunians miss most - how many do you remember?

The West Midlands city has said goodbye to plenty of shops over the years. Today, we'll take a walk down memory lane on some of the ones we were really sad to say goodbye to.

Wolverhampton city streets has had many shops throughout the decades - we're taking a look back on some of our favourites that locals undoubtedly miss. 

Local and central streets were once known in the area for a hub for where local residents could gather together to meet each other and chat. 

With the advent of internet shopping, several high street household names falling into administration and of course the covid-19 pandemic. It's no surprise that these high street shops are no longer around.

Let's reminisce on some of the Wolverhampton shops we miss most.  How many do you remember?

1.  Beatties

Wolverhampton's iconic Beatties store was saved from closure by House of Fraser in 2018, however, its doors permanently closed the following year.

Wolverhampton's iconic Beatties store was saved from closure by House of Fraser in 2018, however, its doors permanently closed the following year. 

The had been a landmark on Victoria Street ever-since 1877. 

When it closed in 2019, the shop had been converted into flats.

2.  Woolworths

The shutters are down at Woolworths, Wolverhampton, for the last time.

It was December 2008, just before Christmas when Woolworths closed nationwide. 

For those in Wolverhampton, that had meant saying goodbye to its store located in Mander Centre.
