'Every wedding is completely different': Meet the florist and venue stylist helping to turn couples' dreams into reality across Staffordshire and beyond
From weddings to birthday parties, flowers and decor are an integral part of many celebrations, transforming blank spaces and bringing a theme together.
Helping to create memories that last a lifetime is florist and venue stylist Emma Sheffield, who is based at Hawkesyard Estate near Rugeley.
She trained as a florist at the elite floristry school in Birmingham when she was 18 years old. After working her way up to manager level, she left the profession when her children were born and later returned as a self-employed florist specialising in wedding flowers.
She became an event stylist almost by accident after a bride made a request that she couldn’t refuse. “I was making her wedding flowers and she asked if I could also do her chair covers and sashes for her wedding because she wanted to have the same supplier for flowers and decor. Me being me, I said yes.
“That was 10 years ago and it’s gone from strength to strength, I now do more venue dressing than flowers. Couples love that I have got a floristry background and can make sure the flowers match the decor.”

For the past four years, Emma, who lives in Clayhanger, Brownhills, has been based at Hawkesyard Estate where she has a consultation room and is a recommended supplier.
She offers bespoke venue room styling for a wide range of occasions, including weddings, birthdays, funerals, engagement parties, baby showers, prize-giving events and corporate functions.
