New landlord keen to bring customers back to Black Country pub affected by months of bridge repair delays
The new landlord of a Pelsall pub which was left badly affected by months of repair works on the nearby bridge has promised to help bring it back to life.
The Fingerpost on Norton Road in Pelsall had been affected by road closures at York's Bridge, which was closed to traffic early in 2025 and between September and December and still has work ongoing until the end of March.
The road closure on Norton Road, which connects Pelsall with Norton Canes and the A5 to the north, meant that traffic normally heading into Pelsall would be diverted through Brownhills or onto narrower country lanes around the building site.
It also led to the previous landlady making the difficult decision at the end of January to leave the pub, citing the roadworks as a primary reason for choosing to leave the Fingerpost, with pub owners Admiral Taverns putting out an advert for a new landlord to take over.
