The man in the red suit is making a special stop at the Designer Outlet West Midlands Centre, also known as McArthur Glen, to give littles ones a treat ahead of the big day and raise vital funds for Staffordshire's new pioneering children's respite care project at the same time.

Grownups can book slots to visit the grotto in the grounds of the centre off Eastern Way in Cannock. All proceeds will go to the proposed 30-acre Kids' Village being set up for poorly youngsters in Wychnor near Lichfield

Slots cost from £10 on weekdays and include time with the man himself, a special gift for every child to take home, and a festive photo opportunity to capture the moment.

Guests can also enjoy a unique twist with a creative sip & ceramic session with Santa, hosted by Pretty Pots based in Main Street in Stafford, complete with a breakfast treat, present and drink. Guests can decorate a hanging decoration whilst singing along with him.

Designer Outlet West Midlands Centre David Jackson says: "We are proud to announce the opening of Father Christmas Grotto this year with 100 per cent of proceeds going to our brilliant local charity partner Kids Village.

"We love Christmas here at the Centre and with so much happening in December for families to enjoy, we are looking forward to welcoming everyone in to celebrate with us."

The charity is running a £5 million capital appeal to raise the funds needed to complete the first holiday village for critically ill children and their families to enjoy a free week-long break. The first phase called Charlotte's Kids' Village is due to open in two years' time.
