New lease of life for historic Pendrell Hall
[gallery] The owners of a historic hall are celebrating the completion of the first phase of restoration work to return it to its former glory.
The Grade II Listed Pendrell Hall, in Wood Road, Codsall has undergone a £1.5 million revamp in a bid to turn it into a wedding venue.
The owners, Ensarb Ltd, invited residents, construction workers and specialist restorers along to the hall to celebrate the completion of the first half of the work.
The work on the main hall, along with the associated cottage and lodge, which will be used for accommodation, has now been finished. It means that weddings can now take place at the venue. The remaining work, which includes the revamp of the hall's 20 rooms and three suites, are expected to be completed by January 2014. The new venue will also provide around 30 jobs to people in the area.
Jon Collier, operations director at Pendrell Hall, said: "We are really pleased with how the restoration work has gone. It looks fantastic and we were delighted to welcome people to see how much it has changed."
