Michael brings more than 15 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering and business leadership to the company which has sites in Wolverhampton and West Bromwich.

During his career, he has worked to improve business performance, lead operational change and identify opportunities for sustainable growth, combining commercial awareness with a practical, hands-on approach to leadership.

As part of Northern Industries Group, Steelway benefits from the wider group’s expertise across multiple manufacturing and engineering businesses throughout the UK.

With a combined turnover of around £40 million, the group provides a platform for collaboration, shared knowledge and continued development across its operations.

In his new role, Michael will work closely with colleagues across Steelway to understand the business, build relationships with its people and customers, and develop opportunities to boost its established capabilities. His priorities include maintaining high standards of quality and delivery, improving operational performance and ensuring the business remains responsive to the evolving needs of its customers.

Michael O’Shea said of his new appointment: “As I settle into my new role, my focus will be on understanding our operations, getting to know our people and identifying opportunities to develop the business further.

“I believe that lasting improvement comes from more than refining processes. Clear direction, accountability and a shared understanding of our business goals are equally important in creating a team that works effectively together.

“With my experience across manufacturing and engineering, I hope to bring a practical perspective to Steelway, helping us build on our existing capabilities while continuing to meet the expectations of our customers.”

Paul Sweeting, COO of Northern Industries Group, welcomed the appointment, saying: “Mike brings valuable experience across manufacturing and engineering, along with a strong understanding of what it takes to improve performance and build successful teams.

“His balanced approach to operational and commercial performance will support our ambitions for Steelway, while his focus on people and customer relationships aligns with the values that underpin our wider group. I look forward to seeing Michael build on the strengths of the business and lead the team into its next chapter.”

Michael takes over from Alan Curtis who has left the business to join leading machinery hire company CRJ Services in Cheshire.
