Owners of former Black Country pub appeal enforcement notice
The Bridge Tavern was inspected by Walsall Council earlier this year resulting in an enforcement notice being served.
A planning enforcement notice served on the owners of a former pub in Short Heath, Willenhall after council officers found the upstairs had been converted into flats without permission has been appealed.
The Bridge Tavern was inspected by Walsall Council in June this year.
Officers found that the upper floor had been converted into multiple residential units without planning permission, the council said.
Back in August, the council confirmed it was in the process of preparing to serve an enforcement notice for the property.
However, the owners have now appealed against that enforcement notice to the Planning Inspectorate.

People can comment on the appeal here before November 14.
A recent post by Short Heath Community Champions on Facebook, run by former Conservative councillors for Short Heath, urged residents to have their say.
It said: “We must ensure our community is heard loud and clear.
“Unauthorised changes to this historic site are not welcome, and planning rules must be properly enforced. No one is above the rules.
“We will continue to stand up for our community and protect our local heritage.”
