56 redundancies at Brownhills firm as it falls into administration

There have been 56 redundancies at a metal fabrication firm.

On appointment administrators made the redundancies, retaining only six employees at the business in Chase Link, Lichfield Road, Brownhills.

GJF had faced challenging trading conditions in recent months and explored options to secure its future, but its director concluded that the best option was for the company to enter an insolvency process.

Joint administrators Jon Roden, Rob Parker and Helen Dale of Grant Thornton are now supporting employees with redundancy claims and say they are working to secure the assets of the company and realise them for the benefit of creditors.

GJF, formed in 1988, designs and manufacturers steel containers, compactors, skips and recycling banks for major national waste and recycling companies.
