Police set up a cordon around a Wolverhampton park following disorder with three taken to hospital

West Midlands Police has confirmed that three people have been taken to hospital after a serious incident in Wolverhampton.

A considerable West Midlands Police presence has been seen on Staveley Road, Wolverhampton. Officers were spotted in the area shortly before 5.30pm on Monday, October 27. 

Police cordons were in place and emergency services have been at the scene.

A video uploaded on X appeared to show ambulance crews also in attendance at the wooded area of Dunstall Peace Park.  

A man who was working in a shop overlooking the park on Staveley Road told the Express and Star that he "did not see" the incident take place, but has co-operated with police and has handed over CCTV to help with the investigation. 

He added that he is "worried" about the increase in violent crime in the city.

Ambulance crews were also on the scene, and it has now been confirmed that three people were taken to hospital to have their injuries assessed. 

West Midlands Police told the Express & Star that officers were called to Staveley Road, Wolverhampton at 4.45pm on Monday, October 27 to reports of disorder, and quickly set up a cordon around Dunstall Peace Park.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to disorder in Staveley Road, Wolverhampton, at around 4.45pm today (27 October).

"Three people have been taken to hospital for injuries to be assessed.

"We're in the early stages of our enquiries and officers are currently on the scene."

West Midlands Ambulance Service have also been approached for comment.
