M54 closed eastbound between Featherstone and the M6 after motorcyclist dies in crash with lorry
The M54 has been closed eastbound between J1 and the M6 after a fatal accident.
It comes after a collision between a lorry and a motorcycle. Police later confirmed that the rider of the motorbike was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.
The M54 eastbound is closed between J1 Featherstone Interchange (Cannock A460) and the M6.
National Highways West Midlands posted on X at 3.34pm confirming the incident had caused significant delays.

A post on the organisation's website reads: "The M6 southbound is closed between J11 and J10 due to a serious collision involving a lorry and a motorcycle which has occurred between J10a and J10.
"The M54 is also closed eastbound between J1 and the M6.
"Due to the location of this incident the M54 eastbound is also closed between J1 Featherstone Interchange (Cannock A460) and the M6.
"West Midlands Police, West Midlands Fire and Rescue and West Midlands Ambulance Service are in attendance.
"National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene providing assistance with traffic management."
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We are currently at the scene of a serious collision on the M6 near Walsall. The motorway will be closed for some time while we assist colleagues from Highways and West Midlands Ambulance Service."
A spokeswoman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of an RTC involving a lorry and a motorbike on the M6 Southbound between Junction 10 and 11 in Willenhall at 2.54pm and sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and the WMAS Critical Care Car to the scene.”
