West Midlands Fire Service confirm Wednesfield blaze was 'an accident' as investigation closes
West Midlands Fire Service have concluded their investigation into the fire at a Wednesfield industrial unit on Wednesday, concluding it was caused accidentally.
The fire involved machinery at Onboard Corrugated Limited on Neachells Lane, with three fire engines first attending the scene at 3.53pm on August 13, and a further three dispatched later.
Around 35 firefighters from crews from Wednesbury, Wolverhampton, Tipton, Walsall and Fallings Park tackled the blaze, which was inside a warehouse, while everyone from the site was evacuated safely, with no injuries reported.
The final crew left the incident at 8.43pm on Wednesday evening, before two revisits took place overnight to ensure the situation remained under control.
West Midlands Fire Service confirmed at 2pm on Thursday, August 14: "Fire Investigation work at the scene of this incident has concluded. It is believed the fire started accidentally."
