West Midlands Metro confirmed on their X account on Monday morning that a broken down tram at Wolverhampton Station was the cause of the delay, and that there will be no services between the station and the Royal as a result.

However, they did confirm that services between the Royal and Edgbaston Village would remain open.

The post on X published at 8.33am reads: "Due to a broken down tram at Wolverhampton Station there will be no services between the Royal and Wolverhampton Station.

"Trams are operating between the Royal and Edgbaston Village. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

This new issue comes after several tram delays across the West Midlands in recent weeks, most recently due to the funeral of Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne.
