Celebrity chef Lorenzo Richards brings Caribbean flair to Wolverhampton
Prepare for a culinary takeover as celebrity "Jerk Master" Lorenzo Richards ignites Wolverhampton’s nightlife at the city's newest power-spot, Jerk & Sizzle.
Operating out of the elite Bank de Léon on Lichfield Street, the award-winning chef is officially unleashing the raw, vibrant energy of Trinidad and Tobago onto the Midlands. This isn’t just a menu launch—it’s a full-throttle cultural explosion, blending Lorenzo’s star-studded Elstree Studios pedigree with the authentic, sun-soaked soul of the islands to redefine the city's dining scene.
Chef Lorenzo, a familiar face from Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me: The Professionals and BBC’s The Hairy Bikers, is renowned for his ability to blend traditional island recipes with modern flair. While he grew up in Birmingham and proudly celebrates his Jamaican heritage, his latest residency at Jerk & Sizzle will specifically highlight the diverse "tastes and sounds" of Trinidad and Tobago—bringing a unique carnival energy to the local dining scene.
Lorenzo’s journey to Wolverhampton is steeped in celebrity culture. During his time at London’s iconic Elstree Studios, he cooked for a long list of A-list stars and worked alongside Caribbean culinary royalty, Rustie Lee. His reputation as a "Jerk Master" was further solidified when he was named West Midlands Jerk Cook-off King.

"I wanted to create a space where the food is as loud and lively as the music," says Chef Lorenzo. "By bringing the spirit of Trinidad and Tobago to Jerk & Sizzle, we’re offering more than just a meal; we’re offering a cultural experience. Whether it's the sizzle of the grill or the rhythm of the room, you'll feel like you've been transported to the islands."
Housed in the historic and uniquely designed Bank de Léon, Jerk & Sizzle offers a “grown and sexy” atmosphere, combining authentic island flavours—from Lorenzo’s signature “Inferno” wings to slow-cooked curried goat and Trinidadian-inspired seafood—with vibrant nightlife featuring live reggae, lover’s rock, and jazz lounge nights, and a premium cocktail menu including Caribbean classics like Rum Punch and Wray & Nephew specials.
Jerk & Sizzle is now open at 9 Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1EA, operating Thursday through Sunday.
