Elizabeth Mansell, 35, was chosen by fellow members of the Bradley morning group in recognition of her weight-loss journey and the changes she has made to her lifestyle.

Elizabeth joined the group in March this year, having struggled with low confidence and self-esteem, as well as pain in her knees, ankles and back.

She said she wanted to improve her health and wellbeing, both for herself and her four children.

Since joining, she has lost 5st 12lb and gone from a size 18 to a size 10.

Elizabeth said the support of fellow group members had played an important part in her progress.

She said: "The group means so much to me. Going every week gives me the push I need to keep going. Everyone is so supportive and has become like a second family to me.

"Having people around you who understand what you're going through, celebrate your successes and encourage you when things feel difficult makes such a difference."

She has also developed a greater interest in cooking and now enjoys experimenting with meals for herself and her family.

Her increased confidence has encouraged her to become more active, including going for walks and following exercise videos.

Elizabeth said the changes had also allowed her to enjoy more activities with her children.

She said: "Life before Slimming World was very up and down. I felt lost and unhappy, but now I feel amazing and so proud of myself.

"My confidence has grown, and my mental and general health are in a much better place. My family and friends comment on how well and happy I look. I can now finally enjoy activities with my children."

Carla Abreu, who runs the Bradley group, said: "Watching her transformation has been incredible, not just in terms of weight loss, but in confidence, self-belief and overall wellbeing too.

"Liz has shown extraordinary determination and commitment, and it's wonderful to see her recognised as a Slimming World Icon 2026."
