Walsall mum celebrates ‘three times the delight’ after welcoming triplet boys
Mum praises Birmingham hospital team after safe arrival of triplet boys
A Willenhall mum has celebrated “three times the delight” after a routine pregnancy scan revealed she was expecting triplets.

Georgie Bradnock attended her 12-week appointment at Birmingham Women’s Hospital with no idea she was about to receive life-changing news.
The sonographer initially told her she thought she was having twins before discovering another heartbeat.
Georgie said: “We went to the routine 12-week scan not even contemplating anything, so the sonographer told us she thought it was twins. I was so surprised as there is no history of twins in our family, and then she gasped and said she’d found another heartbeat, so there was three.”
Following the surprise discovery, Georgie was referred to the hospital’s Fetal Medicine team, led by consultant Dr Deepa Rajan, due to the high-risk nature of her pregnancy.
From 16 weeks, Georgie attended appointments every two weeks for growth scans to monitor the babies’ progress and check for complications associated with multiple pregnancies.
She said the care she received from the team helped her feel reassured throughout her pregnancy.

“From 16 weeks we had an appointment every two weeks for growth scans,” she said. “The staff were always really nice. Our consultant Deepa was amazing along with the care. It was exactly what you want in that situation.”
Georgie was booked in for a planned caesarean section between 32 and 34 weeks, which was considered the safest way to deliver the babies.
She said: “I was nervous about the C-section, but it was the safest way to deliver them. It was so different to the other birth I had. I felt calm and reassured.
“There were around 20 people in a row ready to help. Everyone was happy to chat and kept it relaxed.”
Georgie is now mum to identical twins George and Max, and their brother Edward, who is a fraternal twin.
Her three-year-old daughter Eve has also embraced her new role as a big sister.
“Eve is loving the boys,” Georgie said. “She loves that two are identical and getting the chance to hold them.”
Dr Rajan praised the outcome for Georgie and her family.
She said: “It was a pleasure to have cared for Georgie and her triplets in the pregnancy, and I am very pleased with the good outcome for the babies and the family.
“The West Midlands Fetal Medicine Centre at Birmingham Women’s Hospital cares for women with complex twins and higher order multiple pregnancies and it is a very gratifying experience following them through their pregnancy journey and providing the adequate support they need.”
