Staffordshire man celebrates 100th Snowdon climb for Parkinson’s charity
A Burntwood man has completed his 100th Snowdon climb, raising £1,500 for Parkinson’s UK
A Burntwood man living with Parkinson’s has celebrated completing his 100th climb of Snowdon after taking on the challenge to raise money for charity.

Sixty-two-year-old Steven Bishop reached the milestone yesterday, having set himself the target in June of completing 100 climbs in aid of Parkinson’s UK.
His challenge has so far raised £1,500, with Steve thanking everyone who has supported and sponsored him along the way.

Steve first climbed Snowdon 10 years ago with his daughter Grace Bishop – and she was by his side again for his 100th ascent, creating a special moment for them to share.
He was also supported on the climb by friends, family and Biscuit the dog, who completed the journey alongside him.
At the bottom, Steve’s wife Louise and son Matthew were waiting with certificates, banners, treats and a medal to celebrate his achievement and show how proud they were.

The station master and staff also presented Steve with an engraved medal marking his 100th Snowdon climb.
Steve says challenges such as this help keep him going and give him something to focus on while fighting the effects of Parkinson’s.
He is continuing to raise money for Parkinson’s UK and expressed his gratitude to everyone who has helped him reach the milestone.
There is still time to support Steve’s fundraising challenge through his GoFundMe page: gofundme.com/f/stevens-100th-snowden?
