New Wolverhampton project aims to support men’s mental wellbeing

Healing Minds and Hearts CIC is inviting men across Wolverhampton to take part in a free pilot session for its new Resilient Man Project, an initiative designed to support men's mental wellbeing through movement, breathwork and community connection.

The one-hour pilot session will take place on Monday, August 4, from 2pm to 3pm, at Wolverhampton Swimming & Leisure Centre, Bentley Bridge.

The pilot forms part of a funding application to establish a weekly two-hour men's wellbeing group. If successful, the project will provide a safe, welcoming environment where men can learn practical techniques to manage stress, improve emotional wellbeing, build resilience and connect with others who may be facing similar challenges.

Rather than focusing solely on talking, the sessions will combine somatic exercises and guided breathwork to help participants release physical tension, regulate the nervous system and develop practical skills that can be used in everyday life. The aim is to encourage men to reconnect with themselves, strengthen their wellbeing and discover healthier ways of responding to life's pressures.

The Resilient Man Project recognises that many men face significant pressures at work, at home and within their communities, often feeling that they must cope alone. This project aims to challenge that by creating a supportive space where men can show up without judgement, build genuine connections and develop lasting resilience.

The pilot session is free to attend and is open to men aged 18 and over. Community feedback and attendance will help demonstrate local demand as part of the funding application to expand the project into a regular weekly programme.

Places are limited, and advance booking is recommended.

Book your free place via eventbrite: The Resilient Man Project.
