Kingswinford in Bloom volunteers help town flourish
Volunteers behind Kingswinford in Bloom have raised £1,500 for new equipment while bringing colour, friendship and community pride to the town
What started as a small group of volunteers determined to brighten up Kingswinford has grown into a thriving community project bringing colour, friendship and pride to the town.

Kingswinford in Bloom was formed by local residents who wanted to transform tired-looking planters with colourful seasonal flowers, creating brighter public spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Since then, the group has gone from strength to strength, with volunteers meeting every weekend to plant, water and maintain the displays that have become a familiar sight around the town.
Chairperson Jo Fletcher said: "We came as volunteers, but we've become friends."
The project has also enjoyed strong backing from the local community, with residents and businesses helping the group raise more than £1,500 towards a new water bowser to keep the flowers flourishing during the warmer months.
The group's original bowser, affectionately named Thomas, has now been joined by a second bowser called Rosie.

Volunteers joke that Thomas "was getting lonely", so thanks to the generosity of supporters, Rosie has become his new companion as the pair help keep the town's floral displays looking their best.
The group says it has been overwhelmed by the encouragement it has received, with residents regularly stopping to admire the flowers and thank volunteers for their efforts.
Local businesses have also played an important role in supporting the project.
Kingswinford in Bloom is keen to welcome new volunteers and says there is a role for everyone, whether planting flowers, watering displays or helping maintain the town's public spaces.
The group meets every Saturday and Sunday at 10am outside Kingswinford Library, with anyone interested invited to come along and get involved.
What began as a handful of volunteers has become a growing network of friends working together to make Kingswinford a brighter, more colourful place to live.
