Kingswinford colleagues take 500,000 steps for local charity
Totalkare staff go the extra mile
Employees at a Kingswinford company have raised £680 for a local charity after completing a 500,000-step walking challenge.

Staff at workshop equipment specialists Totalkare, based on the Pensnett Estate, took part in the fundraiser over the May bank holiday weekend to support Leslie’s Care Packages.
The team set out to complete a combined 250,000 steps, representing the total distance of every circuit on the British Truck Racing Championship calendar. Totalkare sponsors the championship, as well as two competing teams, Team Oliver Racing and Fruehauf.
As more colleagues joined the challenge, the original target was doubled, with employees completing more than 500,000 steps.
The money raised was matched by Totalkare, bringing the final donation to £680.
Leslie’s Care Packages was founded by Vi Wood in August 2016 in memory of her husband Leslie. The charity provides essential items and support to people experiencing homelessness, financial hardship and crisis across the local community.
Ms Wood said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at Totalkare for supporting Leslie’s Care Packages. It means so much to see local businesses coming together to help people in our community who are facing difficult times.”
Boota Sivia, head of marketing at Totalkare, said the challenge had brought colleagues together while supporting an important cause.
He added: “Everyone really got behind the challenge, and we’re incredibly proud to have raised £680 for Leslie’s Care Packages. It’s something we’d love to make even bigger next year.”
