High Sheriff’s charity golf day drives £6,000 towards community causes

The High Sheriff of Worcestershire’s charity golf day has raised an impressive £6,000 for local charities and good causes.

Hosted by Worcestershire’s High Sheriff, Maynard Burton, the event took place at The Worcestershire Golf Club in Malvern, bringing together golfers and businesses from across the county for a day of friendly competition and fundraising.

The £6,000 raised will be donated to the Worcestershire Community Foundation, which will distribute the funds among a number of charities and community organisations selected by Mr Burton.

Taking the top spot on the day was Pinfields IT, which claimed victory with a winning score of 87.

The event was supported by main sponsor mfg Solicitors, whose generous backing helped make the day possible.

Maynard said: “I am delighted we were able to raise so much money for the Worcestershire Community Foundation. My sincere thanks go to everyone who took part, our sponsors and all those who supported the event to help make it such a great success.

“It was fantastic to see so many people and businesses come together to support local charities and community organisations. I would particularly like to thank our main sponsor mfg Solicitors for their continued support, as well as Neil Betteridge for all his hard work in helping to organise the day.

“Congratulations to Pinfields IT on their win and thank you to everyone who contributed to the fundraising effort.”
