Dudley litter pick group celebrates five years of community pride
More than 400 volunteers have taken part in litter picking events
The Kingswinford & Wall Heath Litter Pick Group is proudly celebrating its fifth anniversary, marking five years of dedicated community action that has brought together hundreds of volunteers to help keep the local area clean, green and welcoming.

Reflecting on the milestone, Shaz Saleem, founder of the group, said: "When we first started this group, I never imagined the incredible support we would receive from our community."
Since its launch, more than 400 volunteers have taken part in litter picking events, collecting thousands of bags of litter while also uncovering some truly unusual and memorable finds along the way.
Shaz Saleem added: "This milestone belongs to every volunteer who has given up their time to make a difference. Your commitment, enthusiasm and community spirit have helped transform our local environment, and we are incredibly grateful for your continued support."
A special tribute was also paid to Gail Bradley, winner of the TSF Award for Heroes, for her exceptional commitment in leading the group over the past five years.

"Gail's dedication has been outstanding. We simply couldn't have achieved what we have without her unwavering support and leadership."
To mark the anniversary, The Saleem Foundation, which founded and continues to fund the group, hosted a thank-you gathering for volunteers. Special thanks were extended to Migle Jakstyte and the team at Hickory's Smokehouse Wall Heath for their warm hospitality and to Territreatsretro for creating a wonderful celebration cake.
The group's next community litter pick will take place on Sunday, August 9, with volunteers meeting at 10am. The meeting location will be confirmed shortly.
