Tipton care scheme receives £22,000 investment
Colleagues at Swallow Fields, an extra care scheme in Tipton managed by GreenSquareAccord (GSA), celebrated the grand reopening of a communal space last week following a significant refurbishment project.
The event marked the completion of improvements to the scheme’s Gallery and Library, funded through a £22,000 fixed assets budget. The Gallery, located on the third floor, has been upgraded with new furniture and curtains, giving the space a fresh and modern look.
The reopening event took place in the newly refurbished Gallery, with customers and colleagues in attendance. Guests enjoyed a buffet and entertainment from local crooner Stevie Best.

Sophia Riaz, Business Support Manager at GreenSquareAccord, who led the refurbishment project and has worked at Swallow Fields since it opened, said: "We are extremely pleased with the result, which has brought our vision for the rooms to life.
"We wanted to create an added ‘wow’ factor that would make the Gallery and Library feel special for everyone who uses them.
"I would like to thank all colleagues and customers who went the extra mile to make the unveiling ceremony so special."

Customers living at the scheme were consulted about the redecoration of both rooms, and their ideas helped shape the finished result.
Although not originally included in the project scope, the Library Room at Swallow Fields was also redecorated as part of the refurbishment. This was made possible through close collaboration between scheme colleagues and contractor Countrywide Healthcare.
Built in 2008 beside the Birmingham Canal, Swallow Fields provides 62 two-bedroom apartments for people aged over 55. The scheme offers a wide range of services, from self-contained homes to tailored support and care for residents when required.
