Specsavers, on the High Street, has been running a pre-loved book initiative, which has seen customers donating and rehoming books since 2024. Every small donation made for a book has contributed to the fundraising total, supporting the RNIB’s vital work for those with a vision impairment.

"Our book sale has been a huge success," says Manjit Sidhu, store director at Specsavers Erdington. "Thank you to everyone in our community for making such generous donations. On World Storytelling Day, it’s wonderful to see these books find new homes while supporting the RNIB's fantastic work. We’ll continue to run the initiative, so if you have any books that you think could be re-homed in aid of a good cause, please come and drop them off in store."

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is a UK charity supporting two million people living with sight loss. They offer practical support, campaign for an accessible world, and provide reading services like Talking Books. To learn more or to get involved, visit rnib.org.uk.
