Walsall florist set to bloom after £8,795 business grant boost
A long-established Walsall florist is preparing for its next phase of growth after securing funding from Walsall Business Support to invest in new production equipment.
Entwined Flowers Ltd, which has operated in the town since 2004, designs and produces large-scale, custom funeral tributes on hand-manufactured frames that are not available through traditional retail florists.
With growing demand from customers across the UK, the business sought funding to purchase a large-format banner and outdoor solvent printer which would allow them to bring photo and banner printing in-house.
“We’d been outsourcing the printing element of our displays to an external supplier, but it was a huge weekly expense for us,” said Sophie Menchini, Co-Owner of Entwined Flowers Ltd. “After researching the cost difference, it became clear that investing in the right equipment would make the business far more efficient and profitable, and allow us to expand into other markets.
“When we received the call to say we’d been accepted for the grant, it was incredibly exciting - this grant has given us a huge boost, and having people believe in our vision has given us the confidence and tools to move forward.”

Sophie hopes that expanding into new markets will soon enable the business to employ new staff from the local area, as well as reinvesting into more equipment so they can manufacture tribute frames by machine, rather than by hand.
John Punch, Walsall Business Support Board Member, said: "We are delighted to support Entwined Flowers as they invest in new printers and continue their proud tradition of bespoke floristry in Walsall.
“Their commitment to quality, creativity and growth is a great example of the ambition and resilience of local businesses. We look forward to seeing their continued success and the positive impact they will have on the local economy."
