Community groups to take part in national spring clean effort
Community groups from Kingswinford and Wall Heath will be joining hundreds of people across the country will be taking part in The Great British Spring Clean on Sunday, March 29.
Three amazing community groups: Kingswinford & Wall Heath Litter Pick Group, Wall Heath in Bloom and Kingswinford in Bloom are partnering to support this incredible community project.
Starting at 10.30am at two locations, the Kingswinford and Wall Heath Litter Pick Group & Kingswinford in Bloom will meet at The Bridge Inn, Kingswinford and The Wall Heath in Bloom team will meet by the village Christmas tree.
Gail Bradley from Kingswinford and Wall Heath litter pick group said: "When the litter pick group first started I went along as a volunteer, however I started coordinating the group in 2023. It becomes very addictive!
"I think it's very important to have pride in where you live and keeping it tidy is a big part of that, especially when we have such wonderful countryside on our doorstep.
"It's a privilege to be joining forces with two great community teams who are also passionate about our local area."

Jo Fletcher from Kingswinford in Bloom said: "This is a great opportunity for families to join a community litter pick organised by our local Bloom and Litter Pick groups. We want to encourage people local to Kingswinford and Wall Heath to get involved in The Great British Spring Clean, promoting pride in where we live."
Susan Bolton from Wall Heath in Bloom said: "It's basically a "Love Where You Live" event. All the more important for WHIB this year as we are entering the Britain in Bloom competition again. We want to encourage our village residents to be part of the team effort. We have also encouraged local schools and youth groups to take part in the national initiative which runs from 13th to 29th."
High Sheriff Award winner Shaz Saleem said: "I'm so proud of the work done by these incredible groups who are out week in week out ensuring our community are well looked after. We all have a responsibility towards our community and I'm looking forward to joining our community champions!
