Women in leadership take centre stage at Wolverhampton conference
At this year’s Wolverhampton International Women’s Day Conference, Jointing Tech highlighted the vital roles of women across the organisation, with Kathy Wheater-Ayre speaking on the panel.
Wheater‑Ayre joined an exceptional panel for the “Techpreneurs of Tomorrow” discussion, offering the audience the benefit of her 35 years’ experience carving a career dedicated to blending traditional industries with next‑generation innovation and her career at Jointing Tech, where she leads technology‑driven transformation, supporting the transition to smarter, more sustainable infrastructure across the UK’s power and renewable sectors. Her insights highlighted not only her personal professional journey, but also that of the trailblazing women of the Jointing Tech group, who are contributing to the power and utilities sector.

The panel also featured industry leaders including Elizabeth Gooch MBE, award‑winning founder and former CEO, and Olivia Simpson, Managing Director and Co‑Founder of SymbioTex, both widely recognised for championing innovation, sustainability, and forward‑thinking entrepreneurship. Together, the panel engaged in a thought‑provoking conversation on a range of topics including what it means to a woman in tech and what can be done to encourage more women and girls into the technology sector.
During the discussion, Wheater‑Ayre spoke passionately about the trailblazing women in roles at all levels at Jointing Tech, highlighting how the organisation supports women to thrive at every level including across digital, technical, commercial, and operational functions. She discussed the importance of embracing innovation with confidence, inspiring, and building supportive professional networks.

“International Women’s Day is more than a celebration, it’s a powerful platform for visibility,” said Kathy Wheater‑Ayre. “I am honoured to represent Jointing Tech and our remarkable trailblazing women. Being part of this panel was a reminder of how much talent, resilience, and integrity exists in the organisation. When we support each other, we help shape the future of the next generation of innovators.”
