Hosted by North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC) the “Navigating AI & Cybersecurity with CompTIA” event will take place on Thursday (March 19), 10am to 1pm, at the MIRA Technology Institute in Nuneaton.

The session will provide practical insight into how businesses can build digital confidence and resilience among their workforce – whether staff are in highly technical roles or in non-technical positions that rely on digital systems.

Experts from CompTIA, the world’s leading IT certification and training body, will outline the current challenges affecting organisations across every sector, from increasing cyber threats to the rapid growth of artificial intelligence. Attendees will also explore how globally recognised training and certification pathways in areas such as cybersecurity, AI, networking and digital skills can help businesses prepare for future demands.

Marion Plant, OBE FCGI, Principal and Chief Executive of NWSLC said: “Digital skills are now essential across every industry, not just within IT roles. This event is designed to support businesses from all sectors by helping them understand how emerging technologies, including AI, and the growing importance of cybersecurity will affect their organisations.

“The event will provide the perfect opportunity for employers to ask questions; discuss the specific challenges they are facing and explore practical training solutions. It’s also a great opportunity to meet the experts from CompTIA and our team at the college to find out how we can help businesses develop the skills they need for the future and the funding options available.”

CompTIA courses delivered through NWSLC are fully funded across the West Midlands Combined Authority area, covering Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton and are free to residents aged 19+ who live in eligible postcode areas, whether they are employed or unemployed.

Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands said: “I’m determined that everyone in the region has the support and confidence to use digital technology, and that includes employers.

“AI and digital technology is rapidly changing how businesses function and not just in IT, so it’s vital we help them understand how to best to embed these changes into their way of working, while recognising the importance of cyber security.

“With practical support we can make sure that businesses are equipped to overcome any challenges, break down barriers and thrive, creating further opportunities and economic growth across our region.”
