Try Before You Apply taster sessions at Walsall College
Local Year 11 students are being invited to experience college life while seeing what different jobs and industries can be like through a series of Walsall College taster sessions throughout March and April.
The ‘Try Before You Apply’ events encourage students to get hands-on in the college’s classrooms, training environments and workshops so they can put themselves in the shoes of different working professionals. The two-hours sessions will also include career presentations and information about study pathways.
Jo Thomas, Director of Curriculum – Vocational said: “We know there are students who are struggling to choose between different subjects, or who want to learn more about a specific course so they can be sure it will bring out the best in them. Others may have no idea at all what they want to do next.

“Whatever their situation, we want to assure them that there are ways we can help them explore their options and find a vocational course or training programme that suits their needs.
“We look forward to inspiring everyone at these sessions and supporting them to leave with greater confidence in themselves, their goals, and their career journeys.”
The ‘Try Before You Apply’ sessions are available in subjects including painting and decorating, hospitality. creative media, protective services and sport.
