Unfortunately this month’s speaker had to pull out of attending at the last minute due to illness. President Val Lomas hastily rearranged the session and organised a number of entertaining activities and so the ladies had an enjoyable social evening instead of listening to a speaker this month.

The group’s own talented resident poet, Moira gave a lovely performance of a selection of her poems. All poems are cleverly written, some are moving and most very funny, they tend to deal with the trials and tribulations and frustrations of daily life. Moira received a great round of applause in appreciation from her fellow WI members.

Members tested their recall of music facts with a quiz on musicals, played a fun game of Bingo and completed a mini Beetle drive. The Hayes Green ladies were grateful to Val for providing the entertainment this month and were happy to have time to chat with other members over tea or coffee or a drink from the bar.
