Taking place on Saturday, March 28, the event will begin at The Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge (DY8 2JR) and finish at Stourbridge Rugby Club’s home ground at Stourton Park (DY7 6QZ). The walk is scheduled to commence at 11am and will follow a route designed to be welcoming and accessible for supporters of all ages.

With entry available from just £1, participants can enjoy exceptional value, with the sign-up fee including a breakfast bap to start the day, tea and coffee during the walk, and entry to the local derby match between Stourbridge and Dudley Kingswinford Rugby Club at Stourton Park. The route will also feature pit stops at three Bathams pubs, kindly supported by Bathams.

Commenting on the new event, James Totney, Deputy Head of Fundraising at The Mary Stevens Hospice, said: “We’re really excited to be launching this brand-new event for 2026. Our local community can enjoy a great day out, and help us raise vital funds for the hospice. The support of our rugby clubs and local partners has been incredible, and we’re looking forward to welcoming our walkers.”

All participants who complete the 5K challenge will receive a commemorative rugby keepsake, marking their achievement and their support for the hospice. Funds raised through sponsorship will help The Mary Stevens Hospice continue to provide specialist palliative care and support to patients and their loved ones across the local community.

This brand-new event offers a fresh and engaging way to support the hospice while supporting the strong links between rugby and community care.
