Wolverhampton and Oldbury bands team up to bring jazz through the decades

For the first time ever, two local big bands come together to celebrate a century of one of the most influential musical genres ever recorded: jazz. St Peter's Collegiate Academy Big Band, from Wolverhampton, and Neil Coley Big Band, from Oldbury, join forces to present Swing, Sinatra and All That... a programme spanning every decade from 1911 to 2011.

From 'Hot Jazz' of the 1920s through the Swing era of 1930s right up to the present day, these two bands have something from every decade, representing the hits of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie - with even some offerings from Earth, Wind and Fire and Oasis!

As if that wasn't enough, the event will be compered by the irrepressible Rich Hazlewood, vocalist and song stylist - who might even be persuaded to sing a few numbers by 'Ol Blue Eyes' - Frank Sinatra - himself!
