Canine first aid training strengthens welfare at Home Run Hounds
Volunteers and supporters of Home Run Hounds recently took part in a CPD accredited Canine First Aid course, delivered by Debbie Ward who runs the Cannock, Stafford and Tamworth franchise of Dogs-First-Aid.
Held at RAF Cosford, the course aims to ensure that volunteers and owners alike are confident and competent in assisting a dog, should it ever get into difficulty.
The welfare of both the charity's "homeless" hounds and those already adopted remains at the heart of everything Home Run Hounds does. The training covered not only the role of a first aider, but also vital practical knowledge including how to handle seizures, choking and canine shock, as well as how to carry out potentially life saving CPR.

Attendees thoroughly enjoyed the event and left equipped with valuable information and the reassurance that, if ever needed, they now have the knowledge and skills that could help save a dogs life. By providing accessible, high quality training opportunities, Home Run Hounds continues to put canine welfare first - both in the kennels and in homes.
