Stafford’s pancake race serves up community spirit at Victoria Park
Freedom Leisure, which delivers leisure services in partnership with Stafford Borough Council, successfully hosted Stafford’s much-loved annual Pancake Race on February 17 at Victoria Park.
The event saw 70 enthusiastic participants, including families, local businesses and charity groups who came together for an afternoon full of friendly competition and community spirit.
The atmosphere was set from the moment Stafford’s Town Crier officially called in the race, signalling the start of a lively afternoon enjoyed by more than 250 spectators, including the Deputy Mayor of Stafford Borough, Councillor Andy Cooper. The park was filled with cheers, laughter and plenty of pancake‑flipping antics as teams raced down the course.
Ross Stephenson, Events Manager at Freedom Leisure said “It was fantastic to see so many people coming together and having a flipping great time! The community spirit was truly inspiring, thanks to all participants, supporters and spectators who contributed to the day’s success, we can’t wait to welcome even more competitors to next year’s race.”
